An interpretation of Italo Calvino’s imagined city, “Octavia” from his book Invisible Cities (1972). Octavia is described as a city suspended in the air - a floating city of sorts, wholly dependent on the architecture of a “net” hanging between two mountains. With this set of images, I wanted to convey the fragility and isolation of Octavia, while showing hints of a city that is full of life and humanity.
